Northwest Kansas Library System Selects AGent VERSO™ POMONA, CA. —January 8, 2009 -- Auto-Graphics, Inc. (OTCBB: AUGR) (Pink Sheets: AUGR),a technology innovator providing library automation solutions for over 36 years, today announced that the Northwest Kansas Library System and seven of their member libraries have selected AGent VERSO™ for their integrated library system (ILS). The system is built on AGent™, an open and standards-compliant platform that provides a more visual and interactive user experience to facilitate social networking, effortless navigation for an improved user experience and administrative workflow. The following libraries will upgrade to AGent VERSO with integration to their current resources and services as well as a common bibliographic catalog to facilitate sharing of materials amongst members:
Funding for AGent VERSO was provided by the State Library of Kansas through a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, as well as the Northwest Kansas Library System and the local libraries. The Kansas libraries opted for the Software as a Service (SaaS) hosted delivery method with full system support, maintenance, and updates, allowing them to focus on expanding patron services without the additional cost and complexity of addressing technical support issues. By utilizing the SaaS option these eight libraries will automatically be upgraded to the latest version of the system without any additional expenses. A longtime partner to the State Library of Kansas, Auto-Graphics’ AGent
Resource Sharing™ interlibrary loan system and AGent Search™, its
federated search portal, are already in use by over 1,000 Kansas libraries across
the state. Due to the integrated nature of the AGent platform, as the State
Library of Kansas continues to move toward services focused on the end user
they can seamlessly implement one of the many services offered by Auto-Graphics
which are designed to streamline workflow and greater empower the end user such
as the NCIP-compliant Circulation-Interlibrary Loan Link (CILL) module which
has been proven to eliminate more than 50 percent of the steps required to process
a borrowing or lending request, providing significant time and cost savings. About Auto-Graphics, Inc. # # # |
