North Central Kansas Library System Selects AGent VERSO™ POMONA, CA. —March 23, 2009 -- Auto-Graphics, Inc. (OTCBB: AUGR) (Pink Sheets: AUGR),a technology innovator providing library automation solutions for over 36 years, today announced that the North Central Kansas Library System (NCKLS), representing ten public libraries throughout Kansas, has selected AGent VERSO™ for their integrated library system (ILS). The following libraries will also utilize AGent Iluminar™, Auto-Graphics’ new user interface that was built using the open source Adobe Flex framework, providing a more visual and interactive user experience to facilitate social networking, effortless navigation and “drag and drop” customization capabilities for an improved user experience and administrative workflow:
The NCKLS library system selected the Software as a Service (SaaS) hosted delivery method, which does not include the upfront investment of a license fee and provides full system support and maintenance, allowing them to focus on expanding patron services without the additional cost and complexity of addressing technical support issues. In contrast to selecting an open source library automation system, these libraries will receive ongoing updates that are voted on by the user community and sponsored by Auto-Graphics; these enhancements require no additional investment from NCKLS libraries or the larger AGent VERSO user community. “We look forward to providing this Kansas library consortium with a scalable, full-featured ILS that includes a truly next generation rich Internet application user interface,” said Paul Cope, president of Auto-Graphics. “We will be offering all AGent Iluminar customers the ability to localize the user interface in an open source model and we are working to develop additional programs in this spirit of collaboration that we can roll-out across the entire AGent product line.”
