Newly Formed Kansas College Library Consortium Selects AGent VERSO™ POMONA, CA. — July 8, 2009 -- Auto-Graphics, Inc. (Pink Sheets: AUGR),a technology innovator providing library automation solutions for over 36 years, today announced that the newly formed 2 Year Kansas College Library Consortium, representing two-year college libraries throughout Kansas, has selected AGent VERSO™ for their integrated library system (ILS). These libraries will also be receiving AGent Iluminar™, Auto-Graphics’ next generation user interface, built using the open source Adobe Flex® framework and employing innovative, attention-grabbing display technologies such as 3D Flip and Cover Flow book jacket display - made popular by Apple iPod® - as well as enhanced drag & drop functionality and the ability for end users to modify their own user experience through “My Lists” and “My Account” customization options. The following colleges have opted to implement the new technology using the Software as a Service (SaaS) hosted delivery method, which provides full system support and maintenance, allowing the colleges to focus on expanding student services without the additional cost and complexity of addressing technical support issues:
“Our libraries are currently working with legacy systems that no longer meet our needs. AGent VERSO has a strong presence in Kansas and with the new AGent Iluminar interface and Software as a Service hosted environment, we feel that AGent VERSO is the right choice for each of us,” said Janet Anderson-Story, librarian at Flint Hills Technical College. “We are pleased with how easy it's been to work with the Auto-Graphics staff and are excited about starting the academic year with a new ILS.” The consortium members will also implement Auto-Graphics’ powerful AGent Search™ federated search component, allowing end users and staff the ability to simultaneously search electronic resources, bibliographic databases and the open web, delivering aggregated results for all sources searched. In addition, members will receive the clustered search engine and faceted results display, and these libraries will have access to each other’s holdings through their shared catalog, which will be a rich resource for their commonly shared materials and end user interests.
