AGent Search is completely compatible with an unlimited number of resources, including free and subscription-based databases, catalogs, Z39.50 targets, proprietary and "home-grown" content repositories, and the open web. In addition, the product can be configured to support multiple environments, combining bibliographic data with other electronic resources.

Intelligent Results Management

The product provides robust de-duplication functionality and the ability for libraries to configure how search results are displayed, improving the ability to find relevant information. Library staff can elect to help users avoid information overload through intelligent results management that limits the number of search hits per database.

Single login via multiple authentication methodologies and broad support of database authorization

The fully integrated authentication component uses NCIP or SIP2 to existing ILS. The product supports remote patron authentication via LDAP, custom application links, or the integrated AGent User database. It offers customizable authorization options based on the needs of library patrons and staff, including IP address, referring URL, or utilizing user ID and passwords. Once authenticated, the user may search all available resources that they are authorized to access – all in a single application environment.

Complete statistics to monitor usage and assist with collection development

Library staff have a wealth of knowledge available to them with AGent Search, including the ability to track on-site vs. remote access, compare basic vs. advanced searches, identify which databases are being searched and viewed, as well as access detailed information on website traffic and system activity.
